So, not only is my wife an amazing person, but she has some of the best negotiating skill on the planet! Right after we moved into our home (btw it feels so good to say home and not be talking about an apartment!) we ordered a whirlpool washer and dryer set. Unbeknownst to me, the washer and dryer that I ordered were not the matching pair, so the washer was a little taller and larger than the dryer. Anywhoo, we get the set, and of course Steph puts it right to work... and finds out that the heavy duty cycle doesn't work. And what is a brand new piece of equipment worth if it can't do it's job?!?! So she immediately got on the phone and scheduled a repair tech to come out. A week goes by, he checks it out, and says he has to order a part. Another week goes by, and he receives the part, checks it out, and it still isn't working properly. Now this is where my wife's skills come in. She tells him that instead of ordering another part, waiting another week, and wasting another day of her time, he is going to put in a request to order us a brand new brand new washer and fix the problem altogether. So he does this, whirlpool calls and says that they are actually out of stock on the washer we purchased. She thinks about it for a minute, realizes the situation they are in to spend more money on an unhappy customer, and asks them if it would be cheaper for them to provide us with the smaller washer (that would just so happen to match our dryer) as an alternative.
So now we have a brand new brand new washer that matches our brand new dryer, and she gets to watch me hook it up again. Yay!
WTG Stephanie!!!
